El Rancho De Las Golondrinas
Step back a few centuries at El Rancho De Las Golondrinas. Early Spanish Colonial settlers of New Mexico are depicted at this living history museum. Located approximately 15 miles south of Downtown Santa Fe, El Rancho De Las Golondrinas includes many original historic structures and Spanish buildings from across the Southwest. Visitors interact with the many volunteers’ as they re-enact Spanish colonial life by using centuries old equipment and dress as early settlers. Trades depicted include blacksmithing, weaving, cooking and farming. Guests of Santa Fe hotels will spend the day walking through the homes of the early settlers and exploring the 200-acres site, experiencing what it would be like to live during Spanish colonial times. Buildings on-site include flourmill, adobe homes, schoolhouse, church, barn including livestock, and general store.
Throughout the year, El Rancho De Las Golondrinas hosts special events; Civil War reenactments, wine festival, Harvest Festival, and Arts & Craft Festival to name a few.
